Dual Platform Sniper Challenge, May 30 2026. Overall Win

Instagram can be an amazing tool for learning about new events, and that’s exactly how I learned about the Dual Platform Sniper Challenge, a new format held at Gunsite in Prescott, AZ where each individual competitor was required to use a precision gas gun and a bolt gun within each stage. Additionally, any items dropped/forgotten within each stage would be considered abandoned for the remainder of the event. I gathered up a couple of willing students and we road-tripped it out to Prescott, stopping to confirm zeroes at a local range along the way. Once broken into squads we had the privilege of shooting with Walt Wilkinson, a legend in the long range shooting world and someone I used to watch on Larry Vicker’s YouTube channel just as I was getting interested in all this. Stages were thoughtful and fair, we encountered two movers throughout the day (one for the gas gun at roughly 400yds, one for the bolt gun at roughly 650yds) and it truly tested the shooter’s ability not only to stay organized and efficient with each platform, but to be able to seamlessly transition from one to the other. Taking home the overall win was a pleasant surprise, and I’ll absolutely be back for more events.
