West End Gun Club Multigun match Feb 28, 2026. 29th overall, 21st in 2Gun Division

Well they can’t always go as planned, and this one sure didn’t. West End Gun Club holds an amazing multigun match that I love to attend when I can. For this one I brought out a new toy, the Meridian Defense VOLK-S in 5.56 that was featured in an article I wrote for Recoil, and I was eager to see what it could do. The day started ok with respectable performances including on their “long range” (230 yards) stage, however coming down off the top of the hill is where it all started to fall apart and fatigue kicked in. Hitting no-shoot targets, failures to engage, and engaging targets from the wrong positions added up fast and quickly bumped me down the scoreboard. Of 64 total shooters, 29th place is not where I wanted to be at all so it’s time to get back to the lab and work on the growing list of improvements to be made.
