Join us for a long awaited shooting event that will test your skills on targets up to one mile away! This is an amazing opportunity on private property that does not come up often and even less so in an organized manner. Just bring your rifle, accessories, ammo and a good attitude! Caliber requirements for this event will be .308 on the low end (yes it can do it, yes it will be a challenge), some of the “larger” 6mm options (Think 6mm Creedmoor), 6.5 Creedmoor is absolutely viable, and all your typical magnum cartridges not to exceed .338 Lapua/.338 Norma power levels. No .375 Cheytac/.416 Barrett/.50BMG caliber realm rifles will be permitted WITHOUT DISCUSSING IT WITH US FIRST. This event will be separated into two days:
DAY ONE:
For those of you who need or could use a brush-up on the basics of long range shooting, including a lecture about external ballistics, wind and how to deal with it, ballistic calculators, and ensuring your rifle is zeroed and all ballistic calculator inputs are correct. We’ll then shoot out to 1,000 yards to confirm and correct as needed. Bring 60-100 rounds depending on how trigger-happy you are. This is class day, and an opportunity for any outstanding issues to be corrected.
DAY TWO:
Our open range day where once we open the line, feel free to hone your skills and shoot at steel placed up to one mile away! There will be an optional competitive side stage with prizes for the winner, and help with any issues that arise at the ready.
Spots to this event will be limited, so sign up now. Any questions about it can be sent to southcoastlonggunner@gmail.com and I’ll be happy to get back to you as soon as I can.
