SLO Action USPSA, Aug 8, 2026. 19th overall, 5th Limited Optics
It had been awhile since I’ve both shot a standard USPSA match as well as visited the range in San Luis Obispo, so when the opportunity in my calendar came up I didn’t waste any time jumping on it. This range is well kept, the event is structured and organized, and our squad was filled with awesome people. Overall it was obvious that I was a little out of practice with multiple missed reloads, I walked right past one target, and just overall slow shooting but all things considered I still think I managed to hold my own. It was good to establish a short-term baseline and it gave me a list of things that need immediate work leading into Richmond in October. The main pride point that I had wasn’t with my shooting at all, but rather a 12 year old I had been working with for a few months that I was able to take to his first match. He shot safely and efficiently, and it was fun seeing the program I had put him on working in real time.
